Indeed, it was a great start for IC to win the opening match of PFL'09. 1st period saw us trying very hard to penetrate the ball through the defences of the Hawks. Their 50% tight defence strategy has definitely tamed our shooters like Des and Nic. But nonetheless, Nic, being on his "top-form" make it through the net for the opening goal for IC. But then it took him another 10 more minutes to score his second goal. Great deliverance from Roo on the defensive line to contribute to Nic's goal scoring. This young lad has definitely learned to play his defence role more effectively. A very slow start on the 1st period for IC!

2nd period was when disaster strikes for the Hawks! They were torn down into pieces when the ball keep passing through the goalie. With solo performance from Andrew and Captain E to the combination of the "Deadly-Duo" Sam & Des, and with Nic wrapped up the match with a hattrick gave us a 2-digit scores at the end of the match. Even the "Rising Rookie" (as commented by BBF), Darien found his way on the scoreboard. Great effort and good floorball displayed by the innebandiens on the 2nd period.

Can we do it again when we play against Contact FireAnts?

Hey team. Great effort on the three friendly matches that we had. That was just a warm up and an avenue to test the water before we face the Giants, teams from Penang Floorball League (PFL) Division One.

Do not be discourage if you feel you didn't perform up to expectation during those matches. I have come a long way to learn from those under-performed games I had, the feeling of frustration, guilt, what-if(s) and disappointment.

During one of those bad days, someone walked up to me and said, 'Deswyn, you did well.' These 4words really touch my heart, not because of what it means. But because of who said it. That person was my junior. What I'm trying to get accross is, you may not believe in yourself but your coaches and teammates do believe in you and your talent. Let's stay close and stick together as a team, let us built our Inner Circle. I believe in YOU and I believe in this TEAM.

Not that i have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.

This year Youthwave's Wave Challenge 2009 was yet again a fruitful one! Innebabes' Innecheessie made history! They clinched their first gold medal! Truimphed over Contact Sugar in the finals definitely made the victory sweeter.
