Two wins in a row.
IC went through the same trauma again as we struggled to play our game on the 1st period. Well, playing against FireAnts is never easy to us. Captain E however proved it wrong when he scored the opening goal of the match. But then FireAnts were fast in catching up with us. Later into the 1st period IC was awarded a free-hit. Deswyn then made it through the goalie and IC was leading once again. It wasn't for long until FireAnts equal the score again towards the dying minute of 1st period. Edward once again caught our defenders off guard and score against Lin Ken. The 1st period ended 2-2.
Then come 2nd period. Face-off! And within 7 seconds into the game FireAnts scored at the top-corner which left us trailling behind by a goal. This happened last year when Edward scored against IC seconds after the face-off. Our mental dropped at that point of time, but not in this match! Minutes later, Valerie were quick to score from a rebound in front of the goal. IC did not hold back but continue to attack for more goals. A penalty shot was awarded in favour to IC and Deswyn, presumably one of the best penalty taker in Penang faked the goalie and send the ball into the net. FireAnts continue to get themselves sent-off for various offences but IC were not able to capitalised on the power play. During an attacking effort by FireAnts, Sam intercepted a ball from them and made a sprint directly towards the goal without delay and scored an easy goal. However, that's not the end. 20 seconds before the end of the game Valerie got herself in a scoring position and seal the victory! No doubt she is one of the best girl forward in Penang.
Now....Forget about the insects. Our next game will be against the violent Spartans. Gear up and get ready for a bloody match! See you next tuesday!
